Mahiki Beach Club
Mahiki Beach Marbella – A postcard setting!
As you head east along the Marbella promenade lined with its fine restaurants, bars and boutiques you come to a newly renovated building with some steps leading down to a lovely section of the sandy Marbella beach. However as you get to the foot of the stairs you are greeted with a stunning new beach venue styled in an upmarket, yet traditional Polynesian decor. Welcome to Mahiki Beach Marbella, the latest Sala venue to grace the Marbella shores.
The wooden decked floor leads directly on to the beach where you can find a range of sunbeds and VIP beds to hire for a day’s sunbathing right next to the Mediterranean Sea, with views out to Africa and Gibraltar.
The venue is really a chiringuito but in true Sala Group style, it has been built to provide a comfortable place to eat great food, drink amazing cocktails and dance until the early hours.
The main room of the chiringuito has a central bar area and some tables where you can enjoy food from the interesting fusion menu of Polynesian and Spanish food. During the launch party there were some tasters being offered around of the food and for once it was not the same old canapés on offer that so many venues seem to hand out at launch parties. We were offered lots of interesting and different bites including quails legs (delicious).
Mahiki Beach Marbella Launch Party
It was not difficult to see where the venue was from the Marbella paseo as there was a large group of people being checked off the guest list and shown down to the main venue. As soon as you get to the bottom of the stairs there is a bar area facing you, complete with DJ booth. On the launch night it was occupied by former JLS star Marvin Humes, who to my personal delight was playing all the tunes I grew up clubbing to. I later asked how he knew so many of those great tunes only to be advised that he loved his father’s music choice (well I did ask!)
As we mentioned earlier there were some amazing canapés on offer, free bubbly and lots of beer. It was truly great way to launch a new beach club in Marbella and there were many familiar faces, including ‘Mummy Marbella’ (Lina Hodgkins).
We cannot wait to try Mahiki Beach Marbella properly during the day and sit down for a meal to really sample the food in such an amazing setting.
