You can tell summer is all but upon us here in Marbella because it’s just one party after another at the moment.
Last night was the turn of Guey Lounge Bar & Restaurant near Puerto Banus in Marbella as they hosted a Pink Party. But first we headed to Bangkok Restaurant located on the roundabout right next to Guey.
Bangkok is an Asian restaurant serving Chinese and Thai food, either a la carte or buffet (all you can eat). They have two buffet prices, one which includes drinks (unlimited) and another without. We of course all opted for the menu which included drinks (24.95) and I have to say the wine wasn’t too bad at all. By we, I am referring to Marbella’s most hardcore party people, Bill Padley, Karen Danzig, Hannah Murray and over from Germany Bill’s friend Broder.
This buffet was very different to the ‘Wok Buffets’ that are the norm up and down the coast. This one you actually ordered off of the menu as if you were ordering a la carte. It was a far better way of doing it as the food was hot and fresh.
If you are in town I would thoroughly recommend Bangkok. If we had been paying normally I dread to think what we would have paid. I doubt we would have had much change from 50 euros per head, at least.
With bellies full and a few drinks later we headed to Guey for the Pink Party and PINK it was. Most people had made the effort and donned their best pink outfits and accessories.
If you have not been to Guey it’s well worth a visit. There is a large garden area with ample seating for diners and then upstairs, with its own terrace, is the Guey Skybar.
We popped in to say hello to some friends and the music was pumping and the people were dancing and having lots of fun.
A great night was had by all and we left Percy shaking his ‘thang’, which by all accounts he did until the very early hours of the morning!
