While the banks and economy suffer in Spain the football team continues to dominate the world and last night they made it a hat-trick of major titles and the first team to win back to back European Championship titles.
There is simply no better place to watch Spain win another title that in Spain itself and in the Marbella / Puerto Banus area there was always only one establishment that was going to be the one to watch the match.
Route 66 in Mabrella (Puerto Banus) is a brand new sports bar / American diner located in the heart of the main square. The food is fabulous with anything from chicken dippers to a magnificent T-bone steak from quarter and half ponder burgers to a full rack of ribs. If you still have room after all of that their puddings are also delicious from chocolate brownies to cheesecake.
But it always takes more than just the food to make a restaurant and bar somewhere you want to revisit time and time again and I am pleased to say that Dom and his hard working team have got it down to a tee. The service is simply second to none and you are made to feel welcome as soon as you enter the door.
Summer dining at Route 66 is also ideal on their large outside terrace where you can also enjoy the ambiance of Puerto Banus.
If you do visit Route 66 Marbella then be prepared to be rubbing shoulders with celebrities and top sports stars as Route 66 has already served the new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, Tottenham team members, Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch and even Olympic swimmers.
