This week will see an event in Marbella behind closed doors, but for the participants they will be able to show off their flying skills to other participants and judges.
This Sunday in Marbella the Antonio Serrano Lima Sports Centre will host the model flight event ‘Fun Fly 2020’ as part of the ‘Marbella Summer Experience’ program
The announcement came through the public sports delegation associated with the Marbella city council who advised that as part of the ‘Marbella Summer Experience’ program on July 19th from 10am, the event called ‘Fun Fly’ will be held. It is designed to get enthusiasts together to showcase their different skills. This one is aimed at ‘pilots’ of model aircraft.
The event will test the skill of the participants through a range of challenges such as precision, the flight itself and of course speed. The model aircraft being used will be light in weight and the flights will take place in an enclosed space to avoid interference from turbulence and wind and the other elements.
The Aeromodelling and Radio Control Club of Marbella, who already have extensive experience as promoter of similar events in across other Andalucian cities, are the main collaborators of the event which is being held behind closed doors, with no access allowed for the public.
The flying tests will be subdivided into exhibition and ‘aeromusical’ free flights, both not scoring, and the skill flight in the ‘fun fly’ modality.
This is going to be a great test of the ‘pilots’ to assess their handling of the aircraft and their skills in flying and who knows, there could be a budding Top Gun pilot in the making out there!
