The Global Gift Gala press conference was hosted by the Marbella mayor José Bernal along with Global Gift Foundation representative, Maria Bravo. Maria herself was joined by representatives of the five groups that will be a major part of this years events: Adisol (Association of Diabetics of the Costa del Sol), ADAHIMAR (Association of Disorders for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), CADI (Center for Attention to Childhood Diversity), Association against Cystic Fibrosis, Bubble and Dreams (rare and undiagnosed diseases) and AMPEMNA (Association of Multiple Sclerosis Marbella / San Pedro / Estepona).
Upon arrival Maria took the time to say hello to all attendees individually and introduce herself to each member of the press before taking her seat to present the 2017 itinerary.
The Marbella Global Gift Gala 2017 will take place over the weekend of 15 and 16 July and will as usual be attended by Marbella favourite Eva Longoria. There will be a Global Gift Party taking place at the newly opened Playa Padre in Marbella on 15 July, before the main event on 16 July at the Gran Meliá Don Pepe Hotel
Some names that will be a part of the weekend’s events include; Amaury Nolasco and Belinda Washington, Alesha Dixon, Pixie Lott and others to be confirmed.
The president of the Global Gift Foundation has stressed that the funds raised will go entirely to the project of the Global Gift House of Marbella, which will be located in the Casa La Panocha that has been provided by the City Council for this specific purpose.
The foundation will be looking to raise the investment for the reform of the facilities, with an initial budget of around 651,000 euros. “It is the first Global Gift House and we wanted it to be in Marbella,” he stressed, while indicating that “it will be a space to make life easier for the various associations.”
The building will have consultation rooms for doctors, a multi-sensory room, adapted gym, workshop room, offices for associations represented, multipurpose rooms, physiotherapy room and educational classroom, among others.
At the presentation of the event, the president of the Global Gift Foundation also delivered a cheque for €2,500 to the association of Multiple Sclerosis of Marbella.
