Located on the commercial area between San Pedro de Alcantara and Puerto Banus is a fabulous little gem called KITCH. It is actually a private social club offering a fantastic dining experience in luxurious surroundings. It is easy and quick to become a member and you can then take guests along with you to enjoy the unique and lively atmosphere. During the summer they have a beautiful outdoor terrace which is surrounded by small waterfalls. In the winter and for the later night events there is a large indoor area where you can choose to dine or where you can enjoy the entertainment they have on offer throughout the week.
We arrived at around 8.30pm and were greeted by the hostess who registered us as members and escorted us down the stairs to the lower level where we were introduced to the MaƮtre D who then showed us to a sofa and provided us with a glass of Cava.
We were meeting the new front of house and PR manager Johnnie B Gomez who joined us for the evening after showing us around the impressive venue. He explained that it is a family owned business who also have interests in Puerto Banus. After our tour we were shown to our table and enjoyed some fantastic food.
We started with a delicious gazpacho that had small chunks of apple and octopus (pulpo), and it was quite possibly one of the best versions of gazpacho we have eaten. Next up were succulent scallops on a bed of truffle mash, followed by the most tender steak we have had in a long time. To complete a lovely meal the waiter joined us with a ‘trolley and a hob’ and proceeded to make a ‘Pina Colada’ pudding where he cooked some fruit, pineapple juice and Malibu rum which was topped off with a caramel sauce and accompanied by vanilla ice cream, all served in a cocktail glass.
We were not sure what to expect from KITCH Restaurant & Club, but we were very happy with the experience and standard of food. The prices are very reasonable for such quality food and the setting was great. We noticed that it got busier as the night progressed so maybe a slightly later venue than a normal restaurant, but you could see that the diners were set to eat and then party until the early hours.
We are already looking forward to returning and enjoying another lovely meal.
