Teatro Marbella

For at least a year now we have been eager to try Teatro Marbella, which is located in the area just outside of Dreamers nightclub in Puerto Banus. Each week on Social Media we could see fantastic photos go up on social media from friends who had gone, but as it was a big year for us last year (getting married), we never got around to going.

This year it all started in the same way with magnificent photos being posted online, and friends talking about the experience very positively. It was time to put things right and make sure that we could enjoy the show as well.
Unbeknown to me, Hannah had arranged an early surprise for my birthday and off we headed to Puerto Banus. At that time, I had no idea where we were going but then the penny dropped. We had pre-theatre drinks in the new venue called Posidonia, which is where the old Gourmet Mercado Ambrosia used to be.

We then headed into Teatro Marbella and were pleasantly surprised at the outdoor layout with tables below the stage area, but not too packed together. We were shown to our table and the waiter introduced himself and gave us the menus and wine list. As normal, before even contemplating the food we ordered a nice bottle of white wine and then proceeded to look at the lovely food on offer.

The menu was varied with different types of cuisine, all of which sounded lovely. Prices ranged from about 20 euros plus for starters and from 35 euros for main courses. Worth noting is that we did the a la carte, but it is possible to pay 150 euros per person and get a set menu with drinks included.

Hannah had a delicious piece of Turbot for main, and I had a lovely spicy chicken dish. Both were very good and with two mains, a shared pudding platter and two bottles of wine, we paid about 210 euros. If you consider that the food really includes the cost of the show, then it was actually fairly reasonably priced.

The show itself was outstanding and of a very high standard. They vary the shows quite frequently we believe, but the one we saw included songs and performances from various West End musicals, as well as pop songs, incredible acrobatics, and even some flamenco. The dancing, singing and general entertainment was incredible, and we would highly recommend Teatro Marbella in Puerto Banus as a night out. As well as couples there were some bigger groups of people, so would be a great venue for a party. Dreamers nightclub is still there too so after the show, you could party until the early hours if you wanted to.

It has been a long time coming but at last there is a little bit of London’s West End in Marbella.
