Marbella Luxury Weekend

Jimmy Choo handbags, Christian Louboutin shoes, Chopard earrings, Bulgari broaches, Rolex watches and Chanel sunglasses can mean only one thing – it was the Marbella Luxury Weekend in Puerto Banus.

We arrived to throngs of people heading into the marina. A quick look around and the roof terrace of Bulgari was heaving with people looking at, well, people.

The edge of the marina was lined with Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Aston Martins while luxury yachts swayed in their berths, and of course everyone’s favourite, Shaf was still there (I am not sure if this boat actually has an engine).

Heading up towards the tower in Puerto Banus and the street was awash with designer ‘people’ dressed to impress.

Our first stop was the Marbella based, Michelin star chef Dani Garcia’s stand. We were greeted with a glass of Champagne while we contemplated our next move. By ‘we’ I mean me (PJ Lopez) and Hannah Murray (Breakfast presenter on Talk Radio Europe).

With our camera ready, our press badges firmly on display, we took a deep breath and headed up the street. All the bars and restaurants seemed full to capacity. At the end of the road was the ‘private’ area of the Marbella Luxury Weekend, where thankfully our press passes allowed us access.

Once inside it was a different scene. Waiters and waitresses were strolling around with trays of Champagne and wine and there was a comfortable lounge area, where we decided to take the weight off of our feet.

Marbella’s finest had turned out and I am sure if a hole opened up and they all disappeared, Marbella would suddenly have become a very poor place in an instant.

Next we headed to the stage area where we placed ourselves in the front row ready for the popular fashion show by Maison Lejaby, and what a show it was!

After the show it was a few more drinks and lots of yummy food all courtesy of the event organisers. Then we headed to the café bar Black and White for a Shisha

If you want to experience the ‘designer’ aspect of Marbella then this event is a must. You will walk away with goody bags from top designers and jewellers, mix with the real Marbella set and enjoy a lovely evening under the stars in the luxury marina that is Puerto Banus.

THIS IS WHAT BANUS WAS ONCE ALL ABOUT!
