Midsummer Nights Dream

Located about 25 minutes from Marbella, Sotogrande is a great place to visit with its luxury port and amazing golf courses, including Valderrama which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup.

On Saturday we went to the Sotogrande International School to watch a production of a Midsummer Nights Dream by the students of the school.

I have to say that it was a magnificent play put together superbly with each character portrayed in a fun and unique way.

From the very start the audience, a full house, were clapping and roaring with laughter as the students worked their way through this Shakespeare classic.

All parts were played excellently by the students, but special praise has to go to the young lad playing ‘bottom’ and the young lady playing Helena, who both captivated the audience and provided lots of laughter.

The props and scenery were fantastic and the singing was inspirational.

Sotogrande International School is no stranger to putting on amazing productions and we thoroughly recommend that you attend a future production to experience the talent this school has within its drama classes.

Special praise also needs to go to the head of arts and drama at Sotogrande International School, Kristyn Art a regualr Marbella visitor, who manages to ensure that the students have a great way of showcasing their talent to the outside world.

You can tell that many of these kids are going to go on and become some major celebrities.

A great time was had by all – well done!
