Dani García had been contemplating a collaboration with a prominent fashion brand for a while. He had witnessed its success in beach based eateries outside of Spain and believed it would also thrive in the cosmopolitan resort of Marbella.
The opportunity for such a collaboration on Spain’s popular the Costa del Sol arose through the Mosh group and the renowned Italian fashion powerhouse Dolce & Gabbana. These three pillars now support the revitalized revival of La Cabane, the iconic beach club in the famous five star Los Monteros Hotel and Resort located in Marbella, which is reopening following its acquisition by real estate investment firm Stoneweg.
“For me, the location itself possesses numerous enchanting elements, and this formidable challenge signifies a fresh expression for us” acknowledged Dani García regarding this ambitious venture and his inaugural beach club concept. Alongside Mosh, his team has undertaken the redesign and management, revolutionizing the culinary and entertainment offerings, complete with daily performances and resident DJs, setting it up to be a highly visited venue during the summer months.
Pop-up boutique
“Here, you become immersed in the Dolce & Gabbana universe. I myself have experienced this while working on the menu, and it has been an exhilarating and immensely gratifying period,” García expressed, referring to the concept inspired by Mediterranean Italy, where the esteemed Italian brand takes centre stage.
After showcasing its iconic Blu Mediterraneo prints in luxurious beach clubs along the shores of Capri, Taormina, and Saint Tropez, Dolce & Gabbana now brings them to Marbella, along with a pop-up boutique.
Drawing inspiration from all of this, the Marbella chef has crafted a menu that is “simple and focused on quality ingredients.” It offers an array of dishes, ranging from risottos and mozzarella to caviar and a raw bar brimming with an extensive selection of fish and seafood, not to mention various pasta and pizza options. To top it off, the Dolci Room offers an exclusive dessert experience.
International expansion
“This project has taught me a great deal, both from Dolce & Gabbana and Mosh, and has opened up a world of possibilities for us.”
García envisions numerous prospects for the evolution of this “new gastronomic expression.” With approximately twenty restaurants worldwide, the Marbella chef continues his international expansion plan, aiming to establish a presence in Dubai, Miami, Amsterdam, and Budapest in the coming months, alongside the newly opened Tragabuches and Lobito de Mar in Madrid.
